E.H.P. – “Everyone Has Potential”

The program will be designed for the SDMHA dedicated hockey player that wants to train, work hard and take their game to the next level. Primarily designed for players that already have a good skill base (i.e.: top skill group of H4, Atom players that didn't make Rep and top Atom House players)

To become a proficient Hockey player, you need to be able to skate well before you will be able to handle the puck while skating. One of the hardest elements of being a good skater is utilizing your outside edges which are needed for turning, cross overs, stops and starts while generating power/speed.

Our training curriculum will be focusing on skating (edgework) and skating with a puck. We will combine edgework and puck control together to have the necessary ingredients of skill to be successful when competing. Drills will be designed to accomplish this while learning how it applies to aspects of the game.

Players will be placed in their appropriate skill group to maximize our teaching efficiency and the learning experience of every individual player. Players need to be pushed, but learning must be fun and done in a safe environment.

The program will be coached by Lawson “Boots” Boutilier and he will be accompanied by Stan Sibert and Darin Vetterl (three coaches if numbers dictate). Both Stan and Darin bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program.

The program will be a 20-week program tentatively starting the week of September 25, 2019 and ending February 26, 2020. The schedule will be confirmed prior to the start of the season.
