We recognize that it’s a challenging and uncertain time for everyone and we are continuing to monitor COVID-19 developments. SDMHA will continue to monitor conditions and follow all recommendations and guidelines from government agencies and our facilities partners. To the extent that any of this affects the regular hockey season, we will advise all registrants and prepare for prorated fees and/or refunds of payments collected.


Registration for the 2022-2023 season will open May 24th, 2022.

Registration & Payment Policies for the 2022-2023 Season

We are following the same registration protocols for the 2022-23 season given the current situation with Covid-19:

• Returning & new player registration for the 2022-23 Season will open on May 24th.
• Register on or before June 30th and you will receive the early-bird rate.
• You will also have the option to pay by credit card installments - $200 at time of registration (per player) and the remainder split equally among September 15th & October 15th.
• If you choose to register after June 30th you will be subject to a $50 increase in registration fees per player and will not have an option to pay by credit card installments.
• Payments can also be made by E-transfer; however this option does not allow for installment payments.
• The payment deadline for E-transfer payments to receive the early-bird deadline is June 30th.

***Registration fees will be fully refundable if the season is cancelled.  If the season is delayed we will push back the dates for installment payments and notify the membership.  Credit card processing fees are fully refundable if a full refund is processed.  If a partial refund is processed at anytime during the season, then the processing fees are not fully refundable.

Registration Information

Please register in the applicable category (Skater, Goalie, Rep Tryout) and age division as of Dec 31st, 2022. If you are unable to register in your chosen division or category it could be due to player limits having been reached. Please contact Registrar for more information.  

Rep Tryouts will commence on September 3rd, 2022 (dates to be finalized). Evaluation groupings, locations and times will be sent out by the Division Managers in mid-August. 

Any U18 aged player wishing to try out for a U18 AAA (formerly Major Midget League (MML) team must be registered with SDMHA for the 2022-2023 season prior to obtaining a release from SDMHA. Please note that MML tryouts MUST also attend at least one (1) SDMHA  Rep Tryout to be eligible to play Rep for SDMHA. This requires payment of the South Delta Rep Tryout fee. No exceptions.

Apply for Financial Assistance

KidSport Delta assists individual athletes whose financial opportunities are limited. KidSport offers grants to children who need assistance with the funds required to cover their sports registration fees. KidSport believes no child should have to sit on the sidelines if they really want to play. Parents who require assistance must fill out an application and submit it directly to KidSport and notify our administrator. SDMHA encourages donations to this organization.

Criteria for Jumpstart assistance includes the following

  • Child must be between the ages of 4 and 18
  • Funding must be for a program involving sport or physical activity
  • Your family must be in financial need as defined by Government guidelines
