SDMHA Rep A Coaching Team 2019 – 2020 Season

South Delta Minor Hockey is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 Rep Coaching Team.

Under the direction and mentoring of our Executive Hockey Advisor Yogi Svejkovsky and Coach Coordinator Lawson Boutilier, the coaching team will consist of experienced non-parent and parent-elect coaches.  The coach selection committee has spent the past two months interviewing a number of coaches and look forward to working with the following group of coaches.

ATOM:  Tyler Lauinger and Lawson Boutilier will handle duties behind the bench of the Atom A1 team this upcoming season. Tyler brings a wealth of playing experience through the South Delta Rep program and the Delta Hockey Academy. The Atom A2 coaches will be announced pending the first round of tryouts as per SDMHA Parent-Elect Coach Policy found below.

PEEWEE:  Stan Sibert, Cyle Lappin, Scott Stewart, Jeff Overgaard, and Scott Kobus will be our Peewee A Coaches. Stan, Cyle, and Scott will be in the mix at the Peewee A1 level. All 3 have been involved with the SDMHA Rep Program over the past few seasons. Pending the first round of tryouts as per the SDMHA Parent-Elect Coach policy the make up of each team’s coaching staff will be announced. SDMHA is anticipating three rep teams in Peewee this coming season.

BANTAM:  Brent Wheatley will continue as the Bantam A1 coach after a successful season with the team last year. Brent has been a coach with SDMHA since 2011. The Bantam A2 coach will be announced pending enough registrants into the Bantam rep program this upcoming season.

MIDGET:  Our Midget A1 program will be coached by Ken Priestlay. Ken is no stranger to SDMHA, coaching both the Bantam and Midget A1 teams in years past. SDMHA hopes to have a Midget A2 team in 2019/2020. An announcement will be made pending enough registrants into the Midget rep program this upcoming season.

Non-parent coaches have been appointed a team for Atom A1, Bantam A1 and Midget A1.  Parent-elect coaches in other divisions will only be appointed to a team as per our Rep Hockey Policy: – where the child/player of an appointed parent head coach must be rated sufficiently high enough by the independent evaluators during the tryout process before the parent can be officially named as the head coach to any Rep ‘A’ team.
