VOLUNTEERS MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN!
Parents are vital to the success of our Association. Our Association is run entirely by volunteers with the only exceptions being our administrator, IT person, paid professional coaches and non-parent rep coaches. In order to assist the membership to develop a sense of community in our Association, SDMHA has a Parent Participation Volunteer Program. Each SDMHA family is asked to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours of parent participation service for the 2016-17 season. Once your son or daughter is placed on a team, the team manager will collect the volunteer fee. All registering families will need to submit a cheque payable to SDMHA for $150, post-dated March 1, 2017. This will only be cashed if you do not complete your Parent Participation Program time. All volunteer hours will be tracked by the team managers and if you have more than one player in the association, the parent is to declare what team they will be utilizing their volunteer time towards. Example of volunteer tasks include being on the executive, committees, coaching, team managers, safety person, time keeping, jersey parent, event or tournament volunteer. Further details on the SDMHA Parent Participation Volunteer Program will follow in the coming weeks and be posted on our website.
It's people like you that gives the children in our association the opportunity to play ice hockey. Whether you can offer a helpful hand for one of our "big days" or you're wanting to step-up and assist throughout the season and beyond, South Delta Minor Hockey welcomes your spirit and support. If you are interested in a specific volunteer job or have questions about volunteering in general, please connect with your team or division manager and / or send us as email: email@example.com
