SCHOLARSHIPS

SDMHA is proud to offer scholarship and bursary opportunities for its graduating players moving on to secondary education.  The scholarships and bursaries are designed to recognize a wide range of skills including hockey, academia, character, and community service. Any SDMHA registered Midget level player graduating in the current year.

Submission DEADLINE: On or before April 8, 2017.

Required Documentation:

Completed Scholarship Application Form

Personal letter detailing the following:

  • Academic achievements
  • Community/school participation
  • Details of Hockey participation
  • Future course of study
  • A letter of recommendation from a designated Association executive member, on-ice official, or team official (coach/manager).
  • A letter of recommendation from your school Principal or Counsellor
  • A copy of your most recent school report card(s) (Gr. 12 only)
  • A copy of your transcript of high school grades (Gr. 8-11)

*Scholarships provided must be utilized within 2 years of graduation from SDMHA

Presented in recognition of sportsmanship, citizenship, academic achievement and hockey ability.
2016-17 Winner: Jeevan Bath

Tim Jardine Memorial Scholarship for $1,000
Presented in recognition of sportsmanship, citizenship and academic achievement.
Must be used for scholastic purposes.
2016-17 Winner: Tyler McLennan

In Da House Scholarship for $500
Presented to a grade 12 house player who demonstrates a high standard of sportsmanship and leadership on his team.
2016-17 Winner: Carter Warn

Delta Ice Hawks Scholarship - Delta Secondary School (DSS) for $500
Presented for sportsmanship citizenship and academic achievement.
Emphasis on Post-Secondary Education in Technology & Trades
2016-17 Winner: Chloe Jacob

Delta Ice Hawks Scholarship - South Delta Secondary School (SDSS) for $500
Presented for sportsmanship citizenship and academic achievement.
Emphasis on Post-Secondary Education in Technology & Trades
Must be used for scholastic purposes.

Ev McKee Memorial Scholarship for $250
Presented for sportsmanship citizenship and academic achievement.
Must be used for scholastic purposes.

Awarded for leadership and hockey excellence.
Must be used for sports equipment or registration.
